Striker Dirk Kuyt has revealed that Liverpool have been dealt a £20million ace in Alberto Aquilani.
Former Roma star Aquilani made his long-awaited Liverpool debut as a substitute in the Carling Cup defeat by Arsenal on Wednesday.
The Italian midfielder had not played this season after undergoing an ankle operation in May but Dutch international striker Kuyt said that Aquilani has become a hit with his Anfield team-mates on and off the pitch.
Kuyt told reporters that everyone is happy for Alberto and that he made his debut and he hopes that everyone will see a lot more from Alberto and that he is guy.
Kuyt also said that Alberto tried to be involved in training and away from the pitch.
Kuyt also revealed that Alberto tried to play cards with the team-mates before the Arsenal game and that he has attempted to pick up the language and that he is learning very quickly for an Italian.
The striker went on to say that everyone knows that Alberto is a quality player and that Arsene Wenger has said nice things about him.
He also added that it is now up to Aquilani to prove how good he is in the Premier League and that he is desperate to play well in England.
