The home’s side best opportunities fell to substitute Pedro late on but his ferocious effort hit the side netting, while Suarez’s half volley was well saved by Kameni.
But Malaga deservedly hung on to remain in seventh spot in the table, while Barca remain a point behind leaders Real Madrid.
