Liverpool are ready to set up a swap deal for Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi.
Rossi’s agent confirmed interest from Liverpool last week in the former Manchester United forward.
The Italian has declared he intends to leave Villarreal this summer and Reds boss Rafa Benitez is keen to set up a swap involving outspoken winger Albert Riera.
Villarreal are keen on the deal, with Riera viewed as an ideal replacement for departing French veteran Robert Pires.
