Israel international midfielder Yossi Benayoun seems certain to be rewarded with a contract extension for his best season in English football with a Liverpool FC.
The majority of Liverpool’s stars returned for pre-season training on Monday, as the club announced new deals for two of their most promising homegrown youngsters.
This will be a great news to all Liverpool fans as the future of the 29-year-old Israel skipper have been concluded successfully. Benayoun scored nine goals in 42 games for Liverpool last season.
Benayoun’s most memorable strike was the winner at the Bernabeu in the Champions League against Real Madrid, and from that moment in February he appeared in all but three of Liverpool’s final 16 games of the season.
Benayoun has two years left on his current deal, and has been given an extra 12 months plus a wage rise to end speculation that he could be moving away from Anfield.
