Sensational news are out and it has been reported that Liverpool have told Barcelona their asking price for Fernando Torres.
Sport has reported that new Barca president Sandro Rosell has made Torres a priority target for his new regime this summer, with Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas regarded as a deal brokered by predecessor Joan Laporta.
While he won’t officially take charge until July 1, Rosell has already been in contact with intermediaries to sound out Liverpool about Torres’ situation.
Rosell has been informed Liverpool will sell the Spanish ace for €60 million.
For his part, Rosell rates Torres at €45 million, arguing that the €40 million Barca paid for Valencia striker David Villa should be used to settle the Liverpool man’s asking price.
