It has been revealed that Daniel Sturridge is ready to force his way back into the England national team.
The 24 year old Liverpool striker scored his fourth goal in four Premier League outings in Monday night’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City but was unavailable to play for his country in recent World Cup qualifiers.
The former Man City star was with Roy Hodgson’s squad but a thigh problem kept him out of the Moldova and Ukraine matches and he has now set his sights on vital fixtures against Montenegro and Poland at Wembley next month.
Sturridge told Sky Sports : “I trained for the first time on Friday with the team after the England trip,”.
“I was disappointed not to be there as it was a big opportunity for me, but hopefully I’ll be selected to play in the next one if the manager thinks I’m good enough.”
