Inter Milan and Brazilian right back Maicon looks certain to stay with Italian Champions Inter Milan after his agent revealed to reporters that the Brazilian’s transfer saga is over.
The defender has been a target for a string of European clubs including English clubs Chelsea and Manchester City.
Maicon’s agent Antonio Caliendo said to reporters that above everything, the wish of the player is to remain with Inter Milan. He also added that Inter president Massimo Moratti and coach Jose Mourinho are aware that they have the strongest full-back in the world and would like to keep him at the club.
Maicon, who shone at the Confederations Cup with Brazil this month, demanded a pay increase from Inter although the club did not give in to the 27-year-old’s demands.
Maicon is under contract with Inter until June 2013.
