It has been reported that Manchester United have announced Luke Shaw has undergone successful surgery.
The 20-year-old England international suffered a double leg break following a two-footed lunge from PSV Eindhoven defender Hector Moreno.
A statement from the club said: “Luke Shaw underwent surgery on his injury on Tuesday night and will remain in hospital in Eindhoven to continue his early recovery.
“Manchester United are grateful for the excellent care he is receiving and would like to thank everyone who has sent messages of support.
“A further update will be provided in due course.”
United lost their Champions League Group B game to PSV but the injury to Shaw overshadowed the evening.
