Reports have emerged claiming that Manchester United are on the verge of signing Renato Sanches from Benfica.
The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the 18-year-old midfielder is set to join the Red Devils on a £40million deal.
Sanches has been watched by United all season and has constantly been linked with a move to Old Trafford but recent reports suggest the transfer will actually come to fruition this summer.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain reportedly joined the race for the two-time Portugal international over the weekend but United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has being doing work behind the scenes in a bid to keep the highly sought-after youngster away from European rivals.
It is suggested that the Red Devils are prepared to pay a little more than the £35m buyout clause inserted in Sanches’ contract late last year.
Renato Sanches is also being monitored by Arsenal.
