It has been reported that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal described the 4-2 derby win over Manchester City on Sunday as the ‘best feeling’ he has experienced since taking charge of the club.
The Red Devils were sublime on a wet and blustery day at Old Trafford allowing them to end a four-game losing streak to their crosstown rivals and giving van Gaal some joy.
The Dutchman, who has been the subject of negativity from United fans throughout the season, reveled in the triumph and admitted he would celebrate at his favourite place to eat – Mr Wing’s five-star Chinese Restaurant.
“I can go to Mr Wing’s (restaurant) tonight, because you can do that when you win,” van Gaal said.
“When you lose, the fans say what is Mr Louis doing because he loses and goes out to the best restaurant.
“This afternoon is maybe the best feeling (since coming to United).”
Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling were all on the scoresheet while Sergio Aguero netted a book-end brace as United restored parity in the north west.
