It has been revealed that Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is not pleased with Roy Hodgson’s decision to call up Jesse Lingard for the England national team, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Lingard was selected for England’s upcoming friendly against France following the injury suffered by Red Devils teammate Michael Carrick but many have been left baffled by the call-up for the 22-year-old after just a handful of appearances for United.
The Dutch tactician had admitted recently that Lingard is not ready for England by saying: “I would say it is much too early and we have to wait and see to see if he is consistent in his shape [form] because he is more or less the same age as Memphis Depay. So we have to wait and see, but I am very happy with his contribution up until now.”
Now that Lingard has been called up, van Gaal is said to be less than happy with Three Lions boss Hodgson and the Dutchman is said to be keen on holding talks with the 68-year-old regarding his displeasure.
