El-Hadji Diouf and Blackburn Rovers has handed Man Utd the title on a platter after their 1-1 draw with Chelsea, Utd had earlier overcome an early scare by defeating Liverpool at Old Trafford 2-1 thanks to Rooney and Ji-Sung.
As it stands Man Utd and Arsenal have played 31 games thus far with a total of 69 & 67 points respectively, Chelsea have played a game less and have 65 points, they will play Portsmouth this week and even if they win that game in hand they will have a total of 68 points, one tiny little point behind United which means if Man Utd win all their games in hand they will be Champions no matter what the others do.
Of course it is easier said than done, but Utd do have a very interesting final fixtures, most of their games will be at Old Trafford and even if they travel it won;t be that far (Bolton, Man City, Blackburn,Sunderland).
Chelsea have an advantage in that they are out of Europe while Utd and Arsenal are in the thick of it, i think it will all boil down to the showdown at Old Trafford on April 3rd 2010 – Man Utd v Chelsea.
Arsenal in the meantime do have that little energy sapping match against Barcelona.
Wigan and Spurs hold the key in this title race too, both will meet Arsenal and Chelsea , with Spurs having the “bonus” of meeting Man Utd too!.
Let’s take a look at the remaining fixtures :
(Fixtures for Man Utd & Arsenal will change if they progress in Europe)
