It has been reported that Manchester United legend David Beckham says it’s important they always play with style.
Beckham is aware of fans’ complaints over Louis van Gaal’s football this season.
The former England international captain is back in Manchester captaining a side in his ‘Match for Children’ game in aid of UNICEF and says, “It’s not just about winning trophies here, the style definitely matters. It’s embedded into this club.
“We’ve always played with a certain style, with a certain passion, and I think when you play for Manchester United and are around the club you realise that. Style is important, but you have to play with a certain passion.
“When you support this club, you always want to see the club win trophies and play the game in a certain way. But there’s so many things that have changed over the last five years.
“Not every team is going to be the same. Everyone’s got their own opinions on whether they can play or like to play in this team now. It’s hard to say because at the end of the day I’d have played for Man United no matter what team it is or who’s the manager.
“But me, Giggsy, Scholesy, Butty, the Nevs, we were all lucky that we were part of an era with Sir Alex Ferguson.”
