Manchester United are again being linked with Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan.
The Argentine international came close to joining United in August as a replacement for the PSG-bound Angel di Maria, but negotiations stalled.
Record today reports United boss Louis van Gaal remains keen on Gaitan and is willing to explore the idea of a January deal.
The 27 year-old is rated in the €30 million class by Benfica.
It was confirmed earlier this season that United were on the brink of bringing long-term Gaitan to Old Trafford for a sizeable £22m.
However, the arrivals of Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial convinced Van Gaal into backing out of the agreement.
