Reports are out claiming that Manchester United are looking at a double swoop this summer in order to replace Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao.
The Express is reporting that the Red Devils are planning to go after Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani and PSV Eindhoven’s Memphis Depay as they look to offload both van Persie and Falcao.
It is believed that Uruguay international Cavani would cost around £40million despite a less than impressive campaign at Parc des Princes behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Laurent Blanc’s pecking order.
United would have to pay £25m to land 21-year old Dutch ace Depay from PSV who will be sold by Eindhoven boss Phillip Cocu if the right offer comes along.
Depay’s compatriot van Persie has again struggled with injuries and has scored just 10 goals which pales in comparison to the 30 he netted in his debut campaign at Old Trafford which helped the Red Devils land their 20th league title.
In Falcao’s case, the Colombian has failed to convince Louis van Gaal that he is worth the enormous transfer fee Monaco would ask to make his loan move permanent having netted on four occasions this term.
