Reports are out claiming that Manchester United are looking to use Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez as a makeweight in their pursuit of Southampton star Nathaniel Clyne.
Hernandez is currently at loan at Real Madrid but it is unlikely that the Spanish giants will look to turn the move into a permanent one at the end of the season.
The Mexican international striker is also surplus to requirements at United and it has now been revealed that manager Louis van Gaal will look to use the Mexican international as a sweetener to bring long-time target Clyne to Old Trafford.
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is an admirer of Hernandez and if the striker is offered as part of the bid to sign Clyne, the Saints are expected to drop the defender’s asking price which reportedly stands around £20million.
