It has been reported that Manchester United are being linked with Fiorentina defender Stefan Savic.
AS says Atletico Madrid have been chasing Savic for the past fortnight and were expecting to close a deal this week.
However, United have made their interest known and are threatening Atleti’s plans.
Fiorentina are seeking €15 million for Savic and Atleti were confident of agreeing terms by including midfielder Mario Suarez in their offer.
But United stepped in last night and intimated they were prepared to pay cash to bring Savic back to Manchester.
The centre-half is a former Manchester City defender.
