Reports are out claiming that James Wilson scored on his first appearance for the England U21s on Thursday.
The Manchester United striker netted the only goal of the game as Gareth Southgate’s new-look Young Lions edged USA U23 1-0 in Preston.
19-year-old Wilson came off the bench to slot home from closer range in front of more than 10,000 fans at Deepdale.
The match saw the likes of Joe Gomez, Jordon Ibe and Dele Alli debut for the England U21s while in-form Sunderland forward Duncan Watmore set up the winner for Wilson which came in the 71st minute.
