Manchester City came from behind to seal a 3-1 Premier League win over Aston Villa at Eastlands that boosted their race for fourth place and ended the visitors’ Champions League hopes.
John Carew put the visitors ahead on 16 minutes but a Carlos Tevez penalty was swiftly added to by Emmanuel Adebayor to put the hosts ahead at the break.
The again-excellent Craig Bellamy added a last-minute third to give City a win that keeps them a point behind Tottenham Hotspur with two matches to play – including one with Spurs at Eastlands on Wednesday that could decide who takes the all-important fourth Champions League qualification spot.
