English Premier League club Manchester City remain keen on signing Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon.
Local newspapers have reported that cash rich Manchester City are keen on Inter full-back Maicon, but have earmarked Osasuna’s Cesar Azpilicueta if they fail to land the Brazilian international.
It is also believed that City are well aware of the uneasy peace currently existing between Yaya Toure and Nou Camp bosses and his ability to play in midfield and the heart of defence is a major attraction.
He was offered only a modest increase in wages to £45,000 a week and is one of the lowest-paid players at the club.
