Reports in Spain are surfacing that Premier League rich boys Manchester City are close to inking a deal for Valencia winger David Silva.
The Eastlands club have been strongly linked with the Spain international for some time.
With his domestic employers known to be struggling financially, Silva has accepted that the time may have come to move on from the Mestalla.
It is also reported that Blues’ chief executive Garry Cook is reported to have travelled to Spain for talks with Valencia president Manuel Llorente on Monday, in an effort to thrash out a deal.
It is believed that City are looking to use Roque Santa Cruz as a makeweight in the transfer, with the Paraguayan striker having slipped down the pecking order at Eastlands.
