Interesting transfer news are out and this time it has been reported that Manchester City are in talks with Arsenal over the signing of Togo international striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
It was reported before that the striker has been linked with a move away from the Emirates all summer with Italian giants AC Milan and Chelsea at the head of the queue, however, now that Manchester City have ended their interest in Samuel Eto’o, Adebayor has now appeared on the Manchester City radar.
It is believed that negotiations for the striker are said to be at a ‘significant level’ and a fee of around £20m is believed to be enough to tempt Arsenal into a sale.
Local British media has reported that initial talks have begun, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger previously stating that he would not have a problem selling the player to a Premier League rival.
Adebayor has scored an impressive 62 goals in 142 appearances for the Gunners following his arrival from AS Monaco in January 2006 and reports have suggested the club could now turn to Bordeaux forward Marouane Chamakh as his potential replacement.
