Premier League giants Manchester United have slapped an £8 million price-tag on Sunderland target Danny Welbeck.
According to The Sunday Sun, Black Cats boss Steve Bruce originally wanted to sign the striker on a permanent basis but baulked at Sir Alex Ferguson’s valuation.
However it is now reported that Bruce is hoping to land the 19-year-old on a season-long loan, but realises that Fergie will sell to any club who can meet his asking price.
Welbeck is currently on a pre-season tour with Man U in the USA, but it is believed that Steve Bruce will be back in touch with Ferguson when they return to the UK.
