Reports are surfacing that striker Dimitar Berbatov could be on his way out at Manchester United this summer.
As Sir Alex Ferguson and other United officials plan for their end of season review to see who stays and goes, it is said that Berbatov’s name has come up as a potential sale so the club can bring in further big names to freshen up their list.
The Bulgarian international is valued at around £20million so any offers in that vicinity would have Ferguson interested as his value is likely to drop as he ages.
Manchester United have already brought in young Mexico international Javier Hernandez which indicates they are looking for other strike options and Ferguson is also after another match winner to play alongside star striker Wayne Rooney.
Berbatov has struggled to make an impact that his £30.75million price tag suggests he should have and Ferguson may be ready to sell him and bring somebody like Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema in.
