Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is maintaining his pursuit of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
Local newspapers have reported that Benzema has been unable to settle in the Spanish capital following his £30million arrival from Lyon.
Madrid are aware that Ferguson – who was unable to match Real’s spending power when the bidding for Benzema opened last summer – remains a big admirer of the 22-year-old French international.
It is believed that Real Madrid have dismissed any attempt to include £30m flop Dimitar Berbatov in the deal as a makeweight.
