AC Milan striker Marco Borriello is convinced that Serie A leaders Inter will fall over in the closing weeks of the season.
The Rossoneri currently lie third in Serie A, just three points adrift of the League leaders with seven games remaining this season.
Asked if he thought Milan could still win the title, Borriello told reporters that : “Yes and I’ll explain why. We had a small blip, but we are still only three points behind Inter. And we are working all week, from here until the end of the season, preparing for the games. It’s not a small advantage.
He also said that : “I won’t give a percentage, I’ll use an adjective: we have good possibilities. Actually, the possibilities are more than good.
“Milan are a team who are alive and we will demonstrate as much. We have relented a little, I don’t deny it, but if we were to have won against Napoli and Lazio no one would have cried scandal. The only game we got wrong was that against Parma.
“You’re right, our run in is very difficult. We have tough matches ahead. But it’s not as if Roma and Inter can go on the pitch with their reserves.
“Inter are still in the Champions League and for six straight weeks they have been playing every three days. I believe that they can soften up, that they can leave some nervous energy on the pitch. I am saying that they will pay for their double workload.”
