It has been reported that Massimiliano Allegri is being lined up as Manchester United’s next manager.
According to Italian publication La Repubblica, the United hierarchy are showing considerable interest in the Juventus boss and could make a move for his services prior to the summer of 2017.
It is believed that the Red Devils want to replace Louis van Gaal with Allegri when the Dutchman’s contract at Old Trafford expires in 18 months.
Allegri led Juventus to the Serie A title in his debut season with the Bianconeri while also guiding the Old Lady to glory in the Coppa Italia and into the Champions League final where they were beaten by Barcelona.
The Turin outfit are currently battling a little in 2015/16 as they sit fifth in the Italian top flight but they are just seven points off leaders Napoli after losing some key men in the form of Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal, Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente in the summer.
