Reports are out claiming that Mike Dean has maintained his status as a Premier League referee, despite his poor performance in Chelsea’s win over Arsenal on Saturday.
Dean failed to spot Diego Costa’s consistent fouls on Gunners defenders Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista and eventually sent off the latter in the 2-0 triumph over the Gunners at Stamford Bridge.
His performance drew criticism from all quarters including Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
But Dean has not been given a break from his duties, and will take charge of West Ham United vs Norwich City at Upton Park on Saturday in a strong show of faith from the Premier League, albeit a match of much less magnitude.
Costa has since been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association.
