Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has declared that the Galacticos era will not continue under him.
Mourinho has already raised eyebrows with his deal for Benfica winger Angel di Maria, who doesn’t boast the profile of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, who both arrived last summer.
The Special One said that : “This year the club will change direction,”
“The signings will be players of lesser status and projection.
“My preference are players that have room for improvement. Above all to create a balanced squad. To be more competitive and have more options there will be three or four more additions.”
On Ronaldo, he added: “Cristiano is a player of the highest quality in all its forms and you can only expect great things from him. Nobody can say that Ronaldo is not a great professional.”
