Premier League transfer news are out claiming that Newcastle United have agreed terms with Lyon for striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
After weeks of haggling over a price, the Geordies will pay £7million for Gomis – with another £1.6m to potentially follow, based on incentives.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed: “We have accepted Newcastle’s proposal, which is 8m euros, plus a 2m bonus.
“The agreement is linked to the acceptance of agents’ fees. The problem is in the amount and manner of payment of commissions.
“There are several people involved in the operation, which does complicate negotiations. But I am hopeful it will be resolved within 24 or 48 hours.”
