It has been reported that Newcastle United’s Ryan Taylor is in the wars again after re-injuring his knee against QPR on Saturday.
The 30-year old full-back, who has only recently returned from more than two years out of the game, aggravated his troublesome knee in the first half of the Magpies’ 1-0 win at St James’ Park.
Taylor was withdrawn from the match in the 34th minute before being sent for a MRI scan to assess the extent of the damage with Newcastle fearing it could be another anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Toon boss Alan Pardew confirmed that Taylor would have the scan and was holding hope that his player had avoided any serious issues.
“Ryan will be scanned as soon as possible and we’ll know more then. The thoughts of myself and all the players are with him,” said Pardew.
The injury soured Newcastle’s fifth Premier League win on the trot which came courtesy of Moussa Sissoko’s 78th-minute striker, temporarily lifting the north east club to fourth on the table.
