AC Milan coach Leonardo has dismissed claims of cash rich Manchester City landing Rino Gattuso.
The Italy international midfielder is a reported target of Manchester City and the Italian media have claimed the midfielder is pondering a move away from the San Siro in January.
Leonardo revealed that he has spoken to AC Milan club administrator Adriano Galliani and that he often speaks to Gattuso. He went on to say that there is no truth in claims that Gattuso wants to leave AC Milan.
Gattuso has been playing less than last season partly due to injuries and also to Leonardo’s rotation policy.
The 31-year-old combative midfielder has made seven league appearances this campaign and is currently sidelined with a muscular injury.
Leonardo also said that Gattuso’s priority at the moment is to recover.
He added that the player is out injured and it is normal that a player who is recovering from injury is eager to come back to play.
He then said that AC Milan’s project is to use all the players it has available.
