Reports are out claiming that German legend Oliver Kahn has jumped to the defence of Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
The German international goalkeeper is being blamed for Alessandro Florenzi’s wonder goal in their 1-1 draw this week in the Champions League.
“If you’re asking me whether I think it was a goalkeeping error, no, I don’t think it was,” Kahn told Sky, after suggestions that Ter Stegen was too far off his line.
“Coming off your line is part of the game and is what is expected of goalkeepers in the modern game. It has its advantages as it means the keeper can stop certain attacking moves but it also involves risks and you have to accept it.”
