Nilmar scored for the second time in four days to set Brazil on their way to victory over Gulf Cup champions Oman in a friendly at Sultan Qaboox Sports Complex on Tuesday.
The Villarreal striker, who netted in the 1-0 win over England on Saturday, gave the South Americans the lead after only four minutes before Oman defender Hassan Mudhafar put through his own net in the 60th minute.
Oman had the first chance of the game when striker Hassan Rabia’s powerful shot went just past the left upright. However, it was Brazil who opened the scoring when Luis Fabiano broke the offside trap, burst into the area and unleashed a powerful shot which was saved by Ali Al Habsi, but Nilmar was in the right place to capitalise on the rebound.
Oman had a chance to pull a goal back after 72 minutes when Hassan Rabia made his way into the area and tried his luck from an acute angle, but his effort was saved by Julio Cesar.
Brazil should have scored a third when Porto striker Hulk had a sight of goal in the 82nd minute, but his shot went wide.
