Real Madrid defender Pepe has defended the club’s performance in their disappointing 0-0 draw at Sporting Gijon yesterday.
The result was clearly not what Real had been seeking after defeat at home to Champions League opponents AC Milan in midweek.
Central defender Pepe told reporters that he thinks the team has lacked a goal. He added that the players did a good job, all fighting for the victory, but lacked the skill in front of goal.
Pepe also said that there is a long way to go to complete the league and Real Madrid can still finish first.
Pepe also added that the talk should not be about those who were absent as the players must believe that those here want to help the team win.
