French international defender Phillippe Mexes has dismissed rumours linking him with a move away from Roma this summer.
The Roma central defender has been linked with move to Chelsea and AC Milan but the player insists that his future lies in the Italian capital.
Mexes recently released a statement saying that he will remain at Roma but added that it always gives him pleasure when a team is interested in him but he is happy at Roma.
Centre-back Mexes is under contract with AS Roma for another two more seasons and is looking forward to the new campaign.
The 27-year-old defender made 29 league starts as Roma finished a disappointing sixth in Serie A last term.
The player added that last season was one of the the worst season he has had in his five years at Roma and that he wouldn’t want to leave the club like this. He also said that he wants to prove his worth.
