Christoph Tobias Metzelder was born on 5th of November 1980 in Haltern, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany. Metzelder is a central defender who currently plays for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
He had a career blighted by constant injuries. His younger brother Malte is also a footballer and is also a centre back. Metzelder and his brother both played for BV Borussia Dortmund.
On 18 April 2007, Metzelder transferred to Real Madrid at the end of the season on a free transfer.
