Espanyol striker Raul Tamudo is reportedly being chased by a number of English clubs.
It has been reported that Portsmouth, Tottenham and Championship outfit Newcastle United are said to be showing interest as Wigan, who had initial hopes to sign Tamudo, have dropped out of the running.
The 32-year old striker is keen to get out of Barcelona and sort a loan deal with the view to a permanent deal with another club.
All clubs have their benefits for Tamudo but a move to Tottenham may be of less interest as they already have four strikers on their books, whilst Newcastle are currently in England’s second tier.
Portsmouth have a shortage of quality strikers and will lose in-form Aruna Dinande in January when he goes on international duty with the Ivory Coast to Angola for the African Cup of Nations, leaving a hole for Tamudo to fill.
