A third successive win for Leicester City has lifted them off the bottom of the table for the first time since November.

Leicester City 2-0 Swansea City - REPORT

Goals from Leonardo Ulloa and Andy King brought a deserved three points for the hosts, who now sit level on points with Hull City in 18th. They were hardly forced to work for it against an insipid Swansea side.

Leicester made a strong opening to the game, playing with intensity off the ball and sticking to a high tempo in possession. It paid off for Nigel Pearson’s side with Ulloa drilling them into a 15th-minute lead after excellent hold-up play from Wes Morgan in the Swansea penalty area.

Garry Monk’s team struggled to get to grips with the pace of Leicester’s play, and found Marc Albrighton a difficult outlet to counter on the right hand side.

After a strong first-half showing lacking in cutting edge, Leicester began the second period with renewed vigour and should have doubled their lead early with Albrighton, Andrej Kramaric and Ulloa all missing presentable chances.

The result was confirmed in the final few minutes as King pounced on a Lukasz Fabianski mistake to double the home side’s lead.
