Manchester United 3-1 Burnley - KEY MOMENTS

KEY MOMENTS

4′ – CHANCE: The ball is driven into the six yard box and former Manchester United man Michael Keane really should score, with his maker Phil Jones all at sea, but he powers his header wide of the near post.

6′ – GOAL! Manchester United 1-0 Burnley. Remarkably it is substitute Chris Smalling who has scored the goal with his first touch of the game, heading in after Burnley fail to deal with Falcao’s looped header back across the box.

11′ – GOAL! Manchester United 1-1 Burnley. What a brilliant start to this game as Burnley equalise thanks to an emphatic header from Danny Ings. The credit has to go to Kieran Trippier, though, who powered past Di Maria on the Burnley right before playing in a brilliant cross for his teammate.

45+2′ – GOAL! Manchester United 2-1 Burnley. It’s a second United goal and remarkably it’s Chris Smalling with it again. After a one-two with Rooney from the corner, Di Maria drifts an outstanding cross to the far post where Chris Smalling rises to power the ball down into the net. They don’t deserve it but United lead again.

48′ – CHANCE: Danny Ings wastes a glorious chance from inside the six yard box as Boyd’s scuffed cross is missed by two Untied defenders and falls at his teammate’s feet, only for his shot to be blocked from point-blank range by De Gea.

81′ – GOAL! Manchester United 3-1 Burnley. That will surely seal it for Manchester United, as Robin van Persie smashes a penalty into the bottom left-hand corner. Referee Kevin Friend made the right decision to award the spot-kick after Di Maria was tripped by Arfield in the area.
