QPR 0-2 Manchester United – Highlights

Wayne Rooney scored after 52 seconds as Manchester United claimed a routine 2-0 Premier League win against QPR at Loftus Road.

The England striker headed past Radek Cerny in the first minute, before Michael Carrick scored his first goal in nearly two years to put the result beyond doubt.

The champions squandered a host of chances to add gloss to the scoreline, while DJ Campbell was guilty of an astonishing miss for QPR.

United lined up unchanged from the side that beat Wolves, but welcomed Mexican striker Javier Hernandez back to the bench, just a fortnight after he picked up an ankle injury that had been feared would keep him out for upwards of a month. The Mexican made an encouraging second-half cameo.

Rio Ferdinand marshalled the United back-line, but his brother Anton missed his first game of the season through injury.
