It has been revealed that former Liverpool and Inter Milan boss Rafa Benitez has attracted the interest of Racing Santander new owner Ahsan Ali Syed.
Benitez is currently in England back at his family home in the Wirral after his dismissal by Inter Milan over Christmas.
Ali Syed showed the door to his coach, Miguel Angel Portugal, last night and is seeking talks with former Liverpool and Valencia boss Benitez about a return home.
The Indian powerbroker may face an internal battle, however, with some on the Racing board favouring Marcelino as Portugal’s successor.
