According to AS, Gareth Bale’s transfer from Tottenham to Real Madrid will not be for a world record fee.
The Spanish paper claims that the deal has finally been agreed with Real paying €84m (£71.7m) with a further €7m in add-ons taking the final price to €91m (£77.6m)
Real Madrid paid Manchester United €96m for Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2009 – at the time that converted to £80m.
Throughout the lengthy transfer negotiations between the two clubs it had been reported that Tottenham were looking for a transfer fee of around £100m which would have smashed the world transfer record.
