It has been reported that Real Sociedad president Jokin Apperibay insists Carlos Vela wants to stay in San Sebastian.
After a visit to London, Apperibay confirmed Arsenal planned to trigger a buy-back option in Vela’s contract.
However Apperibay revealed last night: “We are fortunate that the player is keen to stay in San Sebastian with us and that’s an important factor for Real Sociedad.”
The president also explained that the two clubs were yet to reach an agreement for the player, who Arsenal signed back in 2005 from boyhood club Guadalajara.
