Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has revealed that he is ready to sign an extended contract at the club and also insisted that the club are very much still in the title race.
Reina has been one of the Reds’ most consistent performers since moving to the Premier League from Villarreal four years ago and is considered to be one of the very best goalkeepers in England’s top flight.
However, despite a horrific run of form which has seen Liverpool lose six of their last seven games in all competitions, and slump to a fifth Premier League defeat of the season at Fulham on Saturday, Reina believes hopes of winning the Premier League title for the first time since 1990 should not be ruled out.
Talks on a new deal are expected to open soon and Reina told reporters that his aim is to get a new contract in the future and that he wants to be with Liverpool for many years.
Reina also revealed that the club has same intentions as it is already his fifth season with the club and that itself says it all.
