Dinamo Moscow manager Andrei Kobelev revealed that the club rejected Arsenal’s loan approach for Aleksandr Kokorin.
The Gunners were in the market to sign a new striker all summer and it was reported during that time that the Gunners were eyeing a move for Russian international Kokorin.
It has now been confirmed by Kobelev that Arsenal had indeed made an approach to sign Kokorin on loan but it was rejected as the Russian side felt that the striker deserved more respect.
Kolebev said: “There were substantial discussions on Kokorin, but it did not happen.
“We vetoed a loan. I believe that Aleksandr deserves more than a loan.”
