Reports have emerged claiming that Fleetwood Town will be swimming in money if Jamie Vardy is sold by Leicester City to Arsenal.
The Sun says a sell-on clause inserted into Vardy’s contract when he signed for Leicester from Fleetwood in 2012 entitles the League One club to £6.8million.
Arsenal triggered Vardy’s £20million release clause on Friday and are hopeful of completing a deal for the 29-year-old before he jets off to Euro 2016 with the England squad.
Vardy only signed a new deal at the King Power Stadium in February and it still has three seasons left to run.
But Arsenal’s offer of a four-year £120,000-a-week deal appears to have tempted Vardy, who turns 30 in January, to leave the Premier League champions.
