Rio Ferdinand has been ruled out for six weeks after finally admitting defeat with a back injury.
The Manchester United centre-back will miss Sunday’s big Premier League clash at Chelsea and team-mate Wes Brown revealed Ferdinand has been playing through the problem for months.
Brown told reporters that Ferdinand been getting a lot of pain for a long time and therefore he has decided to do something about it now.
Centre-back Ferdinand, now age 30, has been criticised for a number of poor displays for the English Premier League champions.
Brown added that Rio Ferdinand will be a lot stronger when he comes back from injury.
He went on to say that it is very hard to play when a player is not fit.
