According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is on the verge joining Sporting Lisbon for a season-long loan switch.
According to Portuguese newspaper Abola, the two clubs have agreed to split the Russian striker’s salary for the entire campaign and all that is now needed to seal the deal is the agreement of Pavlyuchenko himself.
The Russia front-man, now age 28, has struggled to hold down a place in the first team at White Hart Lane, and finds himself below Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe in the pecking order.
Pavlyuchenko had only limited opportunities to impress for Tottenham last season, scoring ten goals in 24 appearances.
He joined the club from Spartak Moscow for £13.8million in September 2008.
