It has been reported that golf’s world number one Rory McIlroy has not yet been fully convinced by Louis van Gaal.
The Dutchman has Manchester United already sitting five points off Premier League leaders Manchester City despite spending over £100million in the summer, which leads McIlory to believe that perhaps van Gaal is not suited at Old Trafford.
United fan and four-time major winner McIlroy told Sky Sports : “I think the new signings will be good in time, but I’m not convinced LVG is the right man to lead us,”.
“I don’t know, it’s a hard one. Everyone is dropping points, and it looks like City might run away with the league.
“At least we’re back in Europe, so that’s a good thing.”
Of the season ahead, McIlroy added: “A top-four finish is obviously likely, and hopefully we’ll challenge for the title, but we’ll see.”
